ESP Acquires SurgeX
Zebulon, North Carolina — December 31, 2008 — Electronic Systems Protection, Inc. (ESP), a leading original equipment manufacturer of power protection technology, announced today that they have acquired SurgeX, a manufacturer and brand of professional AC power conditioning and surge elimination products for the professional audio, video, broadcast, and multimedia marketplace.
Today's announcement reaffirms SurgeX's position as a leading brand of power protection for the ProAV market and is a strategic addition to ESP’s power protection business. The acquisition will extend ESP’s product line capabilities and will enable SurgeX to utilize ESP’s enhanced power protection technology, improved manufacturing, and expanded distribution capabilities. SurgeX management will join the ESP team and by late January all product manufacturing will be consolidated into ESP’s facility in Zebulon, NC.
